Times LIVE cracks a million!
Times Media LIVE is proud to announce that TimesLIVE.co.za, one of its standout websites, has broken the 1 million user mark in March 2014 (Effective Measure, South Africa, March 2014). This is the first time the number was reached on a news website as part of the network, and has gone a long way to ensuring Times Media LIVE as the profitable second largest network in South Africa.
All news sites across the Times Media LIVE network benefited from a strong news month. Oscar, Nkandla, Crimea and the search for MH370 captured the public's imagination and Times LIVE responded. "It's clear when big stories break that hundreds of thousands of South Africans trust Times LIVE to bring them the information they want," explained Reuben Goldberg, Times LIVE editor.
The other large websites in the network were also lifted by the tide - Sowetan LIVE and BDLIVE grew but kept their respective positions. "The sites that we on-boarded in the last few months (Telegraph, Herald LIVE and Dispatch) have grown really well and are starting to benefit from being part of the network," said GM: Digital Publishing Derek Abdinor. "Growth is reflected not just in audience but in a strong sales performance. We have never been better positioned to take advantage of the seismic changes in digital publishing."
The Times Media LIVE network has a local reach of over 4.2 million unique browsers and over 35 million page views. Times Media LIVE is the digital division within Times Media that represents the digital brands and publishing concerns of the Media business, including Times LIVE, Sowetan LIVE, BDLive, BusinessDay TV, FM, Sport LIVE, Sunday World and The Home Channel. Times Media LIVE also represents The Telegraph UK, Handicaps Network Africa and the Junction Properties, including Career Junction, Auto Junction and Property Junction.
