Upcoming BI conference crammed with top trends and SA success stories

Speakers at the ITWeb Business Intelligence 2014 Summit in March will present local BI case studies and provide a comprehensive update on BI trends and business issues
Internationally sought-after speakers Mark Madsen and Lawrence Corr will update delegates on top global business intelligence (BI) trends at the ITWeb Business Intelligence 2014 Summit, which takes place in March in Johannesburg.

Madsen is the founder and president of Third Nature, a US-based research and consulting company specialising in BI, information delivery, and the technology to support these. Lawrence Corr, a director at UK-based DecisionOne Consulting, is a data warehousing and BI designer and modelstormer, who has worked in management information, decision support and BI for more than 25 years.

Themed: "Agile BI. Analytics. Big data", ITWeb's ninth annual BI summit will help BI decision-makers navigate the current changes and challenges of a constantly changing business environment where gaining and sustaining a competitive edge is key to continued success. The summit is the BI event on the South African calendar, with over 250 delegates attending last year's event.

South African trend updates will be provided by Julian Ardagh, CEO of Effective Intelligence, and Barry Devlin, founder and principal of 9sight Consulting. Ardagh will identify the top BI trends he believes forward-thinking South African CIOs will integrate into their BI strategies to ensure continued business successes in the year ahead. Devlin's presentation will provide topical insights into analytics, big data and collaboration relevant to the local BI market.

The agenda is crammed with local case studies, featuring - among others - Basil Read, Eskom, MTN, Nedbank, SARS, Silica, STANLIB Asset Management, and Keedos.

Tailored business and technical tracks at the two-day conference will supply pertinent and practical information for local BI practitioners. Two half-day, interactive and intensive workshops will be held on the third day. Corr will cover agile dimensional modelling in his workshop, while Devlin will address the need to reinvent information architecture for business analytics.

An expo will run adjacent to the 2014 summit, showcasing the latest in products and services from BI solutions providers.

The ITWeb Business Intelligence 2014 Summit takes place from 25 - 27 March at The Forum in Bryanston. For more information on this comprehensive conference and to register, click here.
