The SABC board is on the verge of collapsing since another member, Magatho Mello, has officially tendered his resignation, according to a reliable source. It is believed that Mello intends to table his reasons in Parliament as soon as possible.

Commenting on Mello's resignation, SOS Support Public Broadcasting spokesperson Kate Skinner said as the governance situation at the SABC becomes even more precarious, Parliament has no choice now but to act swiftly to investigate the corporate governance breaches.
"So far only the SABC board chairperson Dr Ben Ngubane has been given a platform to put forward his point of view. We have long been calling for the parliamentary hearing to be reconvened. All sides of the story need to be tabled and swift action needs to be taken," she said.
Another board member, prominent ANC figure Barbara Masekela, resigned last month.
