Pillay resigns from SABC PBS

Ernest Pillay, known as “Smoke”, has left his position as Public Broadcasting Services (PBS) programming specialist in the SABC's PBS division, in order to “pursue other business interests”, it was announced yesterday, Wednesday, 1 April 2009.
Pillay resigns from SABC PBS

Pillay will, however, continue on Radio 2000 with Kgomotso Moeketsi, co-presenting the mid-morning slot 10am - 1pm week days, and will also continue to present the slot “Good Life” on Saturdays and Sundays 10am - 2pm.

Pillay had been PBS programming specialist since 2006 and, according to the Sowetan, had been driving the national broadcaster's migration to digital technology.

Commented Pillay, “My stay at PBS Radio has been another interesting experience along my radio journey. I have decided that it is time to move on and explore other business ventures whilst I still get to do what I passionately enjoy.”
