Grocott's to take government to court

NEWSWATCH: The country's oldest newspaper, Grahamstown'sGrocott's Mail, is planning on taking Government to court in protest against the local city council's refusal to place advertising because “Grocott's is a launching pad to throw missiles against the leadership of the municipality and the ANC,” according to Patrick Ntshiba, a Makana councillor, as blogged by former editor Jonathan Ancer on Thought Leader.
The SA Blogs Awards is once again in the firing line over lack of clarity in the nominations process, categories, incorrect placements and communications, as well as the fact that the judges have not yet been announced, according to blogger Justin Hartman.

In the ongoing court case concerning corruption at Lesedi FM, the court heard that SABC staff had been primed as to what to say while on the stand as witnesses, reports the Sowetan.

Meanwhile, the ANC Youth League is calling for an immediate ban on all alcohol advertising, reports The Star Online.
