The passing of a leader, Carey Eaton

Issued by: Private Property | 5 Jun 2014 12:37
It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the untimely death of Carey Eaton, who passed away in tragic circumstances after an armed robbery in Nairobi this morning.
Carey Eaton was the co-founder of the One Africa Media group of companies (of which Private Property is a member) and one of the inspirational leaders of the tech revolution that is happening across the continent of Africa. He was on the boards of many companies and was true leader. He was intelligent and bold but wielded this gift with such humility that he gave all around him the confidence to achieve more than they knew was possible.

However, it is not Carey the business leader that we will miss as much as Carey the man: energetic, passionate and connected to us all in some special way.

What can never be taken away is his vision, which surrounds us in the teams and the brands that he built. The seeds he has planted here and in each one of us will bring about a great legacy; we know we will make sure of it. When we have mourned the loss of our friend we will, with renewed resolve, get back to building his vision into a great legacy. In celebration of his life.

Carey leaves behind his wife Steph, and children Archie, Ted, Noah and ILola.
