The four founding members of the agency AfricaExtraBold - Sefadzi Foli, Wingwing Mdlulwa, Bob Rightford and Brian Searle-Tripp - have decided to part ways.
"We have reached a point where it is clear that we cannot continue operating as one company, due to differing views on how to take the agency forward and so we will be operating as separate agencies going forward," say Foli and Mdlulwa.
A final decision on whether to rename the agency still has to be made.
When will white companies realise that blacks are no longer interested in providing window dressing but have brains and creativity too. Posted on 10 Jan 2006 10:16
... if the guys selling this empowered agency simply don't have it. Sorry to say but reality does stink huh! Why should this have worked? Alot of hot air was blown outta those forefront mouths that didn't meet the client's expectations... Posted on 10 Jan 2006 12:24
Funny how white folks are so ardent to refute and denfend the most prevelant issue inas far black participation in the ad industry but all understandably so because it is a white mentality industry of white thought where blacks are seen to have very little credibility if any. I just want to congratulate Wingwing and Sefadzi (the brothas) for scooping their first successful ad campaign: judging by the tons and kinds of comments about your just making a move and announcing it, your primary objectives have been met: YOU'VE MANAGED TO CAUSE A REACTION! be it big, small, happy, sad or bad, it's still one that's on paper so your money's just been made. Well done!!! Posted on 11 Jan 2006 12:26
