Building materials retailer and consumer champion, Cashbuild, launches a new approach to retail advertising this week with two new commercials. Agency, Code Red Communications and Cashbuild proudly celebrate Cashbuild's 30-year heritage and also relook the approach to retail advertising in a unique commercial featuring Cashbuild's products.
Cashbuild is the largest retailer of building materials and associated products in southern Africa. The company employs over 4 000 people and operates in a number of southern Africa countries including Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Malawi, Swaziland and, of course, South Africa.
Cashbuild has a long history of contributing to the communities in which it trades and this history is reflected in their new brand centred commercial; the story of a family building their home hand in hand with consumer champion, Cashbuild.
The commercial resonates with the typical South African family who has built a home from the ground up and raised, not only their home but their family against the backdrop of an ever-changing South African landscape with one constant by their side - Cashbuild.
The "sequel" to this commercial features Cashbuild's products, shown not in the style of a traditional "product and price" retail commercial, but an environment that uses the products as they were intended to be used - in a home. Rather than showcasing individual items, Cashbuild's new product commercial shows a finished bathroom constructed entirely out of products from a Cashbuild store.
The concept should surprise and delight television viewers by actually showing them in real time the quality that Cashbuild products are capable of delivering - and at a very affordable price.
