Depth, based in Rivonia, alongside Sonovision Studios, has invested in a large power generator to guarantee delivery of its world-class work.
Rivonia has been hit with drastic load-shedding since December 2007, and until the second week of January, load-shedding was occurring up to three times a day, for two and a half hours at a time (not to mention the damage occurring to computer equipment). This impacted on almost all of the usual eight-hour working days.
“We had animation simulations running that were constantly being hurt by the incessant power failures, but thanks to a bit of foresight, this is now a thing of the past!” said Benjamin Wainwright, Senior Technical Director.
