Grey SA wins Amstel account

Brandhouse and Heineken International have chosen Grey SA as the agency of record for the Amstel brand in South Africa, it was announced today, Tuesday, 4 September 2007. Grey has had extensive experience on Heineken and has been warehousing Amstel since the repatriation of the brand to Heineken International in March 2007.

Commented Ann Nurock, CEO of the Grey Group, "This [is] a fantastic win for Grey, and the agency [is] proud to add another Heineken International and brandhouse beer account to their portfolio, particularly of the stature of Amstel".

brandhouse Beverages is a joint venture between the following companies who equally own the South African business:
  • Diageo is the largest alcohol beverage company in the world, lNYSE and FTSE listed and with a market capital of approximately £20 bn.
  • Heineken, the Dutch brewer, is the fifth largest and arguably best-known brewing company in the world.
  • Namibia Breweries is one of the leading manufacturing companies in Namibia and part of the respected Olthaver and List Group.
The brandhouse portfolio of brands includes J&B, Bell's, Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Heineken, Windhoek, Amstel, Guinness, Baileys, Bertrams VO, Tanqueray, Gilbeys, Captain Morgan Spiced Gold and Black Label and Jose Cuervo.

Brandhouse is a member of the Association for Responsible Alcohol Use, the International Center for Alcohol Policies and South African Liquor Brandowners Association.
