SA creative director to judge Lions Direct

Stuart Stobbs, local creative director of marketing services agency proximity#ttp, has been elected as a member of this year’s Cannes Lions Direct jury. Stobbs has previously been elected as the first-ever South African judge at the annual John Caples Awards, which focuses to direct marketing achievements from around the world.

While a lot of hard work will be involved, the experience promises to be both stimulating and rewarding. Stobbs expects his participation in Cannes Lions to be both fun and exciting. “I look forward to catching a glimpse of the standard of work worldwide, and seeing how the South African industry stacks up,” he says.

The international advertising festival takes place 17 - 23 June 2007, and has, from its origins as a film festival, become a worldwide showcase for great ideas of every kind. The festival has, in particular, been transformed as a result of many new entry sections, including media, direct and cyber among others.
