The Creative Circle Ad of the Month results for August 2014 have been announced, and chairperson for the advertising judging panel that month, Rob McLennan - Creative Founding Partner of King James II comments: "Not surprisingly for the month after the Loeries, it wasn't a particularly sparkling month for the August Award entries. Nevertheless, strong winners came through in Print, Television and Out of Home."

A clear winner in this category went to Volkswagen for their Golf R 'Terminal Velocity' execution. A simple demonstration of acceleration, impeccably executed. | |
Out of Home | First place, Safety Lab/CCTV Be#LongStreetSmart moving billboard stood out with a demonstration of how police CCTV footage of crimes in Long Street in Cape Town could be streamed onto a moving billboard with the address and times of the crime so that unsuspecting fun seekers in Long Street could be made aware of potential situations. A clever use of an existing technology that also benefits the public. |
Film | Nando's fire it up once again and gets first place in this category, with a parody of our blue brigades behaving like, well, our blue brigades behave. |
Radio | An interactive piece won for the Red Bull Campus Clash where, by twiddling your pan knob (ha!) between left and right on your stereo sound system you are able to do a basic DJ mix of a track. Make sense? Good. |
Congratulations to all concerned.
