Hg80 welcomes Muzi Kuzwayo to the team

Marketing mastermind and best-selling author, Muzi Kuzwayo, recently joined the Hg80 team as Strategic Director and full partner in the business. Bringing a host of experience and expertise to the table, Muzi promises to strengthen and extend the agency's current offerings, especially in terms of strategy and PR.
Over the years, Hg80 (formerly Herdbuoys éKapa) has crossed paths with Muzi on multiple occasions. In the mid-90s, he worked as a copywriter at the agency, forming a dynamic creative team with current Executive Creative Director, Duncan Wares. After reconnecting with agency board members at a conference in 2013, the concept of joining forces was planted in the minds of both parties and discussions immediately kicked into gear.

As the founder of the new marketing and advertising consulting company, Ignitive, and non-executive director of Spur Holdings, Muzi certainly needs no introduction. Some of his most notable titles and achievements include that of former Chief Executive Officer of TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris, Chairman of Project Literacy and Director of the Association of Communication Agencies.

As a highly respected and successful author, Muzi has written three best-selling books, namely Marketing Through Mud and Dust, There's a Tsotsi in the Boardroom, and his latest, Black Man's Medicine. His in-depth knowledge and understanding of the African consumer market is certainly a valuable asset which both agency and clients will greatly benefit from. Kuzwayo is also a newspaper columnist for The City Press and a former columnist for The Sunday Times, with his previous column syndicated in various publications including The Saturday Star and The Cape Argus.

Having worked on various big name clients, Muzi has built strong relationships in a variety of blue chip companies such as Brandhouse, Standard Bank, Old Mutual, Sanlam, Tiger Brands, Pick n Pay and Eskom, to mention but a few. It is therefore with immense pride that Hg80 now aligns itself with a man of such remarkable stature, marking the beginning of a long and prosperous relationship between a dynamic agency and respected industry expert.
