Greg Gray wins first 'Best of Reel'

Velocity director Greg Gray has been awarded 'Best of Reel' for Coke 'Bobby' - conceptualised by Draftfcb Johannesburg - in the very first SA Film Reel.
The SA Film Reel is a new monthly eReel launched by ididthatad.com to recognise film work by South African directors, editors, postproduction companies, animators, music and sound companies. The monthly reel also conveniently provides a quick way for creatives to view the latest work that is being produced.

Over 20 ads were entered this month and even though there is an option for the judge to award up to three pieces for 'Best of Reel', Justin Gomes - Creative Circle Chairperson and ECD of FoxP2 - chose to award just one.

Gomes describes 'Bobby' as a lovingly crafted piece of communication delivering a distinct South African flavour, "The editing, choreography, cinematography and music selection are all perfectly on point. I felt the overall standard of the work submitted was generally good, but the Coca Cola spot had a level of finish that made it a clear winner and is my inaugural Best of Reel selection."
