Core - Design Essence was honoured when they received news that they had won the pitch to rebrand one of South Africa's oldest shows. 50/50 Human Nature has been running on SABC 2 for 24 consistent years, presenting the successes and disasters of conservation to South Africa's people.
The rebranding had to be in line with the view for the new season of both the SABC and the commissioning production company, Clime Morris Productions. The starting point was establishing a new corporate identity which would suit the new features of the show as well as have a clean break from the past colours. Once the logo was locked down everything else fell in to place. The programme branding, intro animation and music had to be something completely different from anything seen before and had to closely tie in with the idea that we are all part of the same planet regardless of species. Even the set and studio took its cues from the branding.
In order to complete the amount of work required Core - Design Essence called upon their good friends over at Firefly Animation Studios to help them complete the animation work which proved to be both technically and very processor intensive.
”We are really happy with the end result although it was at times difficult to please everybody. We feel that we reached a happy medium across the board and everyone is truly ecstatic with the final product,” says Federico Dedeu, Core - Design Essence's CEO.
