Marketing is a form of communication and, when implemented responsibly, has an important role to play within the family and children's market. One can, for example argue that the lack of effective marketing of health food products to kids, has had just as big an impact on obesity levels as the irresponsible marketing of ‘junk food'.
With a new self-regulatory policy in the pipeline and the new proposed food regulations hitting the headlines this week, the responsible marketing debate is as rife as ever. On 17 August 2007, interested parties can join Egg Marketing & Communications and other industry leaders at the Kid Republic Conference to discuss and learn more about the ethical and responsibility issues businesses face when it comes to marketing to children.
International speaker Dr. Daniel A. Acuff, author of ‘Kidnapped – how irresponsible marketers are stealing the minds of our children' will be joined by, amongst others, brand experts from Kauai, the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of South Africa and Keedo to provide brands with answers and assist them in finding balance when marketing to children.
The Kid Republic Conference will be hosted by Knowledge Resources. For bookings or more information please contact:
