SABC agency selection panel announced

The final selection panel for choosing new communication agencies for the SABC account, valued at over R80 million, has been announced.

Mark Jakins, SABC Group Sales and Marketing Director, says that "to ensure the highest level of transparency in the process, each member of the final selection panel has been asked to disclose a potential conflict of interest. They will recuse themselves from specific discussions and/or abstain from final voting if this is deemed necessary to preserve the integrity of the process."

The agency selection evaluation panel consists of:
Peter Matlare (SABC Chief Executive Officer)
Solly Mokoetle (SABC Chief Operating Officer)
Rob Nicholson (SABC Chief Financial Officer)
Mark Jakins (SABC Group Sales and Marketing Director)
Herman Warren (SABC Director: Corporate Strategy)
Ihron Rensburg (SABC Director: Corporate and Regulatory Affairs)
Judy Nwokedi (Managing Director: Public Broadcasting Services)
Nico de Kock (General Manager: Commercial and Community Radio)
Zamambo Mkize (General Manager: Public Service Radio)
Romeo Kumalo (General Manager: SABC1)
Thandi Ramathesele (General Manager: SABC2)
Hannelie Bekker (General Manager: SABC3)
John Langford (5FM Marketing Manager)
Suzette Pretorius (SABC 2 Marketing Manager)

Agency pitches are expected to take place between 27 February and 6 March 2002, followed by deliberations. The announcement of the successful agency/ies will be no later than 17 March.
