Mobile Football Trivia game hits Nigerian market

Starfish Mobile Nigeria has teamed up with Celtel Nigeria, an international mobile network operator to launch the second Mobile Football Trivia Game in Africa.

The first mobile trivia game was initiated in Ghana during the African Nations Cup tournament. Due to the successful campaign in that country, Starfish Mobile International decided to expand the concept to other territories including Nigeria.

The Celtel Nigeria Football Trivia game launched on the 6th June 2008 and will run through to the 30th June 2008. It is based on the 2008 Euro Champs tournament which is co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland.

Participants have to answer a set of general knowledge questions based on the history of European Football. The users have to initiate a request in order to receive their trivia questions. Participants will accumulate points for correct answers and stand a chance of winning numerous prizes.

“The end user can at any time check their rank and point status in the trivia to keep them motivated and ahead of the pack. There is always so much hype and energy surrounding the Euro tournaments world-wide and the fact that we have really amazing prizes to give away, I have no doubt this campaign will be a success,” says Steve Morelli, Starfish Mobile International Operations Manager for Nigeria.

Mobile subscribers have a chance of winning massive weekly prizes including Sony Ericsson W910i handsets.

“This is the third major campaign that Starfish Mobile International has created and run in partnership with Celtel Nigeria over the past 4 months with great success and we look forward to building on these successes and creating even more exciting and innovative campaigns in the future,” says Bontle Moeng, Starfish Mobile International Communications Manager.
