    Scooters Pizza supports charity foundation

Scooters Pizza stores in Pretoria and Centurion recently demonstrated their commitment to giving back to the communities in which they operate.

Four Pretoria based Scooters Pizza stores - Pretoria Gardens, Quagga Centre, Waverley and Les Marais - ensured that 25 underprivileged families in Elandspoort were well fed by donating 60 large pizzas and 25 grocery bags to the Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation soup kitchen.

Furthermore, Scooters Pizza Centurion and Wierda Park contributed a collective 140 pizzas to golfers at a golf day, held at Zwartkop Country Club, in aid of the charity. In addition to satisfying hungry appetites, Scooters Pizza encouraged participants to purchase their corporate VIP cards, and have pledged that 80% of the proceeds will be handed over to Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation.

    A path out of poverty

The Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation, along with their sponsors, support and encourage children, their families and the ageing. Their sponsorship goes beyond the basic needs of providing food, education, healthcare and livelihood programmes as they believe in giving families hope that they can create a path out of poverty for their children.

Taste Holdings Food Division CEO, Christo Calitz, says that this initiative forms part of Scooters Pizza's broader corporate social investment objectives. "Scooters Pizza is more than just a business operation; we care about the welfare of our local communities, and strive to ensure that we play our part in bettering the lives of individuals in need.

    Cultivating a positive change

"Therefore, it is our privilege to be able to provide assistance to the Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation, and allow a host of families the chance to not only enjoy hot, tasty and fast Scooters Pizza, but to benefit from the donated groceries too.

"Having encountered such positive results from our involvement with the Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation, Scooters Pizza aims to continue to cultivate positive change in the communities surrounding our stores. Moving forward, we will continue to support worthwhile causes and initiatives, helping to create a meaningful difference in society," Calitz concludes.
