    Empire magazine turns 10!

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Australia's biggest movie magazine, Empire, marks its 10th anniversary this month with a 20-page feature celebrating the major movie events of the past decade.

"The past 10 years have been a dizzying and exciting time in film and Empire's been there every step of the way," comments editor-in-chief Rod Yates.

"We've seen a promising young Australian star, Heath Ledger, become a surprise icon before making a tragic and untimely departure from this world. We've witnessed Zoolander revolutionise modelling with 'Blue Steel'. And we're happy to announce that, after 10 years, we've finally figured out what the hell Mulholland Drive is all about... we think."

Empire's 10th birthday issue also features a world exclusive cover story on The Hobbit, Peter Jackson's follow-up to the epic The Lord Of The Rings trilogy. Empire is the first magazine to visit the set, and the September issue features never-before-seen photos as well as an in depth interview with Jackson.

Since launching in 2001, Empire has established itself as Australia's biggest and most trusted movie magazine. It recently enjoyed its 13th consecutive year-on-year rise in readership, and continues to provide movie lovers in Australia and New Zealand with unparalleled access to the biggest film sets and stars in the world and the most authoritative movie reviews.

Empire's 10th birthday issue, featuring The Hobbit on the cover, was out on Monday 8 August.
