Valpré flying high

From January 2012, Coca Cola's spring water brand, Valpré, will be served on SAA flights and in its global lounges for the next three years, in a newly designed 330ml bottle, tailor-made for the airline industry. Over 8 million bottles of still and 680 000 bottles of sparkling will be supplied each year.
The proudly South African brand is sustainably sourced from natural spring water and bottled at the company's energy efficient plant in Heidelberg, near Johannesburg. It is reportedly the only beverage in South Africa, which uses PlantBottle packaging made from up to 30% plant material and 100% recyclable. The company created the innovative package.

Bill Egbe, president of Coca-Cola South Africa said, "When building the new plant in Heidelberg, we specifically included the 330ml package in our mould portfolio in anticipation of the needs of the airline industry."

In May 2011, the brand was awarded the 'Gold Quality' label by Monde Selection, an international institute for quality selections. This is the first time a spring water brand has received this award in South Africa, demonstrating the high quality standards that it possesses among the many spring water brands in South Africa.
