The announcement, attended by Special Olympic athletes from the UAE and Etihad Airways Emirati cadet pilots, was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by His Excellency Mohamad Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Etihad Aviation Group board, and His Excellency Mohamad Abdulla Al Junaibi, Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Special Olympics World Summer Games.

Smoother connections with Qantas' new international transit lounge at Perth Airport

Construction is to begin on a new integrated domestic and international passenger precinct at Perth Airport. A new international wing will be located within the existing T3/T4 area, featuring a large outdoor deck with alfresco seating, a streamlined immigration and customs area, a new Duty-Free store and additional food and beverage outlets. According to Alan Joyce, Qantas group CEO, all of the airline's domestic flights, as well as services to Singapore, Auckland, and London would operate from the combined precinct.
